H.E the Ambassador attended the 44th session of the Council of Governors of the (IFAD)

H.E. Abdulaziz bin Ahmed Al-Malki, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Italy, Permanent Representative to United Nations agencies in Rome, attended the 44th session of the Council of Governors of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), which takes place in videoconference on the 17th and 18th of February 2021.

On the first day of the Fund's work, H.E. the President of Angola, H.E. the Prime Minister of Pakistan and H.E. the Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs intervened appreciating the essential work done by IFAD, its importance for sustainable development and its role in the fight against the pandemic and the ongoing emergency. On the same day, the President of IFAD was re-elected for the next four years in office. On the second day, the budget, projects and developments in the field of food security will be discussed. IFAD is the second United Nations agency for financing agricultural development in the poorest and least stable countries, after the International Monetary Fund.
