H.E the Ambassador attended the meeting of the Council of the Ambassadors of the Arab League in Rome with H.E. the Director General of FAO

His Excellency Abdulaziz bin Ahmed Al-Malki, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Italian Republic and Permanent Representative to the United Nations Agencies operating in Rome, attended the meeting of the Council of the Ambassadors of the Arab League in Rome with H.E. the Director General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) today, Thursday, February 18, 2021.

During the virtual meeting, His Excellency Ambassador Al Malki spoke about the importance of coordinating the Organization's policies and programs in the Middle East and North Africa region and the importance of allocating more economic, human and technological resources to the countries of the region to cope with the problems of poor agricultural food production, water scarcity in the countries of the region, desertification and food security.

H.E. Ambassador Al Malki asked FAO Director General to adopt the principle of equality in the use of economic and human resources for the official languages of the Organization, including Arabic, to which insufficient resources are allocated by the organization in comparison to other languages (English, French, Spanish).
